SSAT Prep – Sessions I & II (Mater Dei Only)

 Meets right after school, from 3:00–4:30 PM, providing a convenient and familiar setting for focused SSAT preparation.

Same curriculum and resources as the broader SSAT program, including:
• Three full-length practice tests
• Robust vocabulary program
• Traditional textbook-based instruction
• Digital access to online materials for support and flexibility


 Classes meet in the 8A Homeroom at Mater Dei — no travel required!

Students receive full access to digital materials, including video lessons, vocabulary drills, and online quizzes — helpful for review or if a session is missed.


Ideal for students preparing for the October 11 or November 15 paper SSAT test dates.


SSAT Prep – Session III (Open Enrollment)

 Meets 4:00–5:30 PM, immediately after school — available to Mater Dei and non-Mater Dei students.


A great option for Mater Dei boys who want a later-season prep course before the December 13th SSAT test.

Same classroom location and access to all digital materials included.


HSPT Prep – Mater Dei Only (Fall 2025)


Runs from Monday, November 10 to Monday, November 24, 2025, with seven total sessions.


Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 3:00–4:15 PM.



Focused instruction on all five sections of the HSPT:

• Verbal

• Quantitative

• Reading

• Mathematics

• Language (Grammar)


Course includes high-quality print and digital resources tailored to the HSPT’s format and pacing.

Class is drill-heavy and concept-focused, taking advantage of the HSPT’s predictable structure.



SSAT Classes for Mater Dei Students

There are two sessions of SSAT prep classes designed specifically for Mater Dei students. One class meets starting in September and prepares students to take the SSAT in October. The second class starts in early October and prepares the students to take the test in November. All Mater Dei classes meet on Tuesdays and Fridays immediately after school, from 3:00 - 4:30pm.

One other option, in terms of SSAT Prep for MD students, is to take Session III of SSAT Prep (not listed below but listed on the website). This class meets from 4:00 - 5:30pm. Session III is open to Mater Dei students and students from all other schools as well.

HSPT Classes for Mater Dei Students

There is one HPST in person class designed specifically for Mater Dei Students.

This class meets on the Monday that winter sports begins. It meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for a total of seven class. In 2025, the start date should be Monday, November 10th.

Otherwise, Mater Dei students are welcome to attend the in person Sunday sessions listed on the website.
